Cucumber Tomato Sweet Onion Salad

I found some pretty good vine ripened tomatoes, along with a fresh bag of sweet Vidalia type onions.  The miniature cucumbers were starring at me for a few days.  You know this salad had to be made, don't you?

Asparagus Casserole II

I really like asparagus, cooked in any way.  I love it steamed, broiled seasoned with salt and pepper drizzle a great olive oil or put in a casserole.  Today another casserole.

Rosa Banksiae Lady Banks' Rose

My mama had one of these climbing up on a 'Gumball' tree in her yard.  It was beautiful.  I of course planted one at one of my homes it grew wildly up the side of the home.  How I loved that bountiful blooming rose.  I had trained it on a trellis and had to take extreme measures to hold this rose that reminded me of Jack's beanstalk.  That one had to be cut way back almost to the ground it was just to heavy to keep that huge.  A couple of years ago I planted a very small one here.

BBQ Sauce for Pork

The BBQ King in this household is Chuck and he has his favorite sauces of course. I mix some of my own from time to time when his stock runs low and this little mixture was easy enough.  Thought I'd share it with you today.

Scones

We had friends from overseas to come for a visit.  They themselves had made a home in Wisconsin and were getting adjusted to living in America. Kate was from Scotland and she loved for me to make biscuits for her.  I was enjoying it and she would always say they reminded her of the scones they had in her country.  She had missed them and my flaky biscuits brought back memories for her.  I haven't made many real scones but recently made a few and find that I really like them.
