KITCHEN DRAWER KNIFE ORGANIZATION AND JOSEPH JOSEPH PRODUCT REVIEW

When you downsize in your home there are a lot of things that you just don't think about until you have to deal with them.  We've found that to be true since moving to Hibiscus House.  Blending two families along with their belongings is an undertaking to be sure. Add to that about thirty years' worth of belongings and you have an organizational challenge on your hands.

I for one am glad that is what I did for a while in the business. Although, it is true you know the old sayings, such as:  What one does for a living they lack at home.

Guess I shouldn't cut myself down too harshly, we have dealt with some serious illnesses in the family, including heart disease, and a family member with Alzheimer's Disease. They have taken a toll on the free time around here. Excuse me for going a little off-topic.

There are reasons for all we do and that is the truth. We may not always know what is behind others' actions but they are there.

Today, let's talk about organizing the very small drawer space when you have small standard cabinets and drawers in the home. What can be done to make for quick and easy access to your kitchen tools in these drawers!  Hey, these gadgets could help organize in any size drawer!

EASY STUFFED PEPPERS: BASIC BEGINNER RECIPES

Do you like stuffed bell peppers?  I really do, but I rarely have them. I can't explain why. Chuck says I love them bell peppers in general way too much, and I do that's a fact! They are just plain good no matter how you eat or prepare them. They do flavor most foods as well, don't they?

This very inexpensive and easy recipe is for 3 large green bell peppers.  It can, of course, be doubled or tripled if you need more. If you are looking for a full meal actually in one little course this will do! We did have a side salad, but it wasn't needed. We just love them lots!

White Rice: Simple Beginner Cooking

Today's Simple Beginner Cooking Recipe!

I've been asked to share the most simple recipes for those just learning to cook, and I'm happy to do it!  This will be an ongoing section of the blog.  I'll make a page specifically for easier location of them.

I've been cooking rice for over fifty years!  I can not believe it!

'Family & Traditions'. My Aunt once told me there was one thing she learned very quickly being married to a Johnson.  I was starring at her patiently waiting for some profound statement when she said, "I knew I had to make a pot of rice and then decide what else to go with it."  Evidently, the way to any of the Johnson relatives is a pot of rice and then go from there!

So, that's why we grew up with rice so many times a week, daddy loved it!  The whole family did. I guess that is one of our family traditions

There are many ways to cook rice and we'll cover some of those later.  Today is the recipe on the bag of rice. I added how it works for me.

ROCKING CHAIR TALK!

I love a rocking chair!  I can remember mama and grandmama rocking me as a child. Special memories were made while sitting on the front and back porches of the grandparents' homes! You could hear some of the darndest stories while sitting there with them!

As we grew we would sit on the porch steps for a few minutes listening to them and then run off to play and get into some mischief of course!

But the fondest memories I can recall were due to the rocking chairs out on the porch! Join me today as we have Rocking Chair Talk!
