It seems some historical figures stand out in the minds, especially those who remember.
We, in our small hometown, remember many stories and events surrounding us about
Melvin H. Purvis The G-Man
He is one who stands out for sure
Many of us grew up knowing him or knowing of him
Our friends, family, teachers, in fact, many told us since our childhood about Melvin Purvis
I wish I could remember all of the stories to share

Melvin Purvis, the Timmonsville native with the unassuming name, skyrocketed to fame in the 1930s as the leader of the FBI team that took down some of the biggest gangsters of his day, including John Dillinger, "Baby Face" Nelson, and "Pretty Boy" Floyd. credit
