Saying Goodbye To The Legendary Topiary Artist Pearl Fryar

Chuck and I are sad to hear of his passing.  We are reminiscing about our visit to his gardens.

He came out and talked with us for quite a while and was so very nice and welcoming.  He and his wife, Metra, were very congenial.

He had some great stories to tell about clipping the trees and shrubs.  He certainly was a very talented man who trained himself.  I love that he did it his way.  He certainly was one of a kind tree/plant topiary artist!

Have you seen any of the ornamental shapes?  This man truly was a very gifted, talented artist in this skill, and he did it his way!  I love that!

Many have traveled to see his living works of art, and that says something.  We had always heard of him, but finally decided to visit.

It was well worth the visits, and we spent a lot of time walking and admiring every design.  It was amazing! Breathtaking actually!

Today, in memory of Mr. Pearl Fryar, I'm sharing the posts done here about him.  I hope you enjoy them if you haven't seen them.  Keep his family in your prayers.

Beautiful

This was on our visit in 2012

He said, "I'm just a man who cuts up bushes."

I can say he really knew how to cut up bushes!

While visiting, it made me feel like sculpting

His unique vision really came alive in his topiary

He was very inspiring

May God bless his family and friends during this time

  1. Some may not understand that every time an accomplished, talented, hard-working person passes on, I feel a personal loss - but I'm also very grateful that these people lived and blessed us with their talents. May Mr. Fryar rest in peace; he deserves our gratitude.
