CREAM PUFFS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!

Oh my gosh, I love cream puffs!  Do you?  This is a recipe I've had and used for years.  I hope you enjoy these as much as we do here!  While you're at it you might as well dip some strawberries and pretzels in chocolate!  Yummy!

Cream Puff Recipe

Cream Puffs

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • Cream Filling Recipe *see below

I made these in a miniature muffin tin

Directions:

Preheat Oven 400 degrees F

  • Heat water and butter to rolling boil.
  • Stir in flour, stirring over low heat about 1 minute or until mixture forms a ball.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Beat in eggs, all at one time; continue beating until smooth.
  • Drop dough by scant 1/4 cupfuls 3 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  • Cool completely away from any drafts.
  • Cut off tops, pull any filaments of soft dough. You may also pipe the cream into the puffs.
  • Carefully fill puffs with the filling of your choice.
  • Replace tops and dust lightly with confectioner's sugar.
  • Refrigerate until serving time.
Makes 12 regular or 24 miniature cream puffs
