While growing up we kids had a wild turkey and we named him Gus!
Gus was with us for a long time and we sure did love him.

Well,

I was doing some rose gardening the other day and happened to look up
Low and behold standing not too terribly far away from me in the side field
Was a huge wild turkey!
It was just standing on one slanted leg as if to say, "Hello"
I couldn't tell if it was a Tom or female
It was there for the longest time and in a friendly manner, not frozen or scared.
I'll just consider that my Thanksgiving Turkey Greeting!

Happy Thanksgiving to All

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! I was so happy you had a Turkey Guide - I am not so good on cooking birds! - I have my sister coming in from Walhalla Tuesday - a small gathering just hubby, and sis. Enjoy your Holiday with Family!

Did get my new blog up, I can't seem to access my old HH.com - I really don't want to pay for a blog service, so I am using Blogger, as I am not a die hard blogger - but with the new homestead I may find myself writing a bit more - especially when I try a new recipe or product

    :) have a Great Holiday

    1. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too! I know you're going to have a great time with your sister and family! We will have an extremely small gathering this year but I can't wait. You know we don't see them much these days.
Glad you have your blog up look forward to reading it. I don't think many are die hard bloggers I just hang in here for the fun of it.
So good to hear from you!
