MANY WAYS TO COLOR EASTER EGGS!

Oh my, who besides me gets excited about the pretty Easter colors?  I love Easter, the time of year, the rebirth, the fun and excitement in the little ones' eyes!  Pastel colors, everything in bloom, weather is wonderful!

Easter is on April 12th, so we have some time to prepare!

This blog is a journal of sorts for me, a guide for things I want to keep on hand to return to for information. I guess it is a journal that I also share.  Today's topic Dying Easter Eggs!

Instructions etc.

Assorted Food Colors & Egg Dye

Mix 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 teaspoon vinegar and 10 to 20 drops food color in a cup to achieve desired colors.  Repeat for each color.  Dip hard-cooked eggs in dye for about 5 minutes.  Use a slotted spoon, wire egg holder or tongs to add and remove eggs from the dye.

There are so many creative ways to decorate Easter Eggs and not enough room here to put them all. Share some of your favorites with us!  I would be remiss if I didn't share my all-time favorite egg dyeing miracle.  I share this yearly and every time the thought of it comes to mind I am filled with joy and awe!  This egg was placed in a cup of hot dark coffee and this is the design I came out with!

You can read all about it here on the following post

Happy Easter Egg Dyeing and Easter Preparing

I'm sure I'll find other great ways to decorate eggs and will update this post when I do!

I'll hopefully be back before Easter with many more ideas
Decoupage is always a great way to decorate an egg.

I think I'll be painting so and will share that with you!

  1. I love Easter and always LOVED dying Easter eggs with the kids. I also handpainted a lot of them years ago. Not sure I will get my Easter stuff dragged out this year with the move and all.

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas, Dolly. xo Diana

    1. Hey Diana,
I fully understand that moving is a huge undertaking. I'm still to this day going through boxes that I've stashed out of the way until later with everything going on around here.
Easter is a beautiful season and one of my favorites! Have a great week and I can't wait to see your new place!

  2. My daughter is 28 years old and we still have to dye eggs! Haha. I like doing them in rice.
Place dry rice in a baggy, add a few drops of food coloring, drop in the egg and shake around. I makes a pretty colored egg and Magically, your fingers come out clean!
