Vegepod Growers, Hoss Plant Plugs My Growing Experiment

Hello All!  Hope you're doing well

Todays post is an update of sorts with the plants growing in the Vegepod Raised Gardens.

Y'all know I really like these things, and they've been a Godsend,

Especially since Chuck has recently had some health issues, and my little tiller unfortunately died

No tilling for me, so my Vegepods experiment in growing Brassicas to the rescue!

My last post with smaller plants here

Things are growing!

Fall Plant Plug Brassicas from Hoss - Stonehead Cabbage in the Vegepod on December 10, 2025

Cabbage January 13, 2026 These Stoneheads are gorgeous!

(The chickens will get a few leaves that I've pulled from the crops; they'll be happy)

Side view of  Large Vegepod with Broccoli, Onions, Cabbage, & Collards
Varieties in the Vegepods:
Hoss Twister Cauliflower, Green Magic Broccoli, Stonehead Cabbage, &  Georgia Southern Collards.

The broccoli is doing especially well.

A few broccoli plants in the early morning sun

Beautiful, another Broccoli next to the cabbage

Onions in front of Broccoli and Cabbage

Collards on the right side in the large vegepod

Vegepods, these things have been worth their weight in gold, and that's saying a lot!
These suckers are heavy when filled with soil, and even heavier when wet!
(Not that anyone could ever lift one)

Shown in this picture is how large they really are when next to the cabin

The other Large Vegepod is filled with Hoss Short-Day onions, three different varieties.
Vidora yellow onion, SoFire Red onion, and 1015Y Texas SuperSweet onion

I grow short-day onions because of my location; you may grow other varieties for yours.

Growing this way up in the pod is an experiment, so I don't know how they'll go in the pod.
Probably smaller, who knows?

Ideally, all of these crops probably would grow much better if in the ground.

But I love onions, so we'll enjoy them no matter the size.e

Medium Vegepod with the Greenhouse Cover

Onions, curly parsley in front, a huge cabbage in the back & more onions to the right ot those

The greenhouse cover really does help plants to grow larger and healthier.

I know I'm going to enjoy the covers!

We could possibly have snow mix or cold rain today, so the covers will come in handy.y

I personally haven't had much luck with the Cauliflower, but then again, I've never grown it before.

It's huge now, but may be diseased; they're producing, but they are discolored and just don't look well.

I guess I should've ordered some of their disease treatment or something.

I'll update with pictures soon.
