HOMEMADE HOT FUDGE SAUCE

It is Sunday afternoon and I want a hot fudge sundae!  We live thirty minutes away from almost anywhere and I am too blame lazy to go shopping. I need hot fudge sauce and I'm not going to town to get it!

Then I remembered I used to make hot fudge sauce but couldn't for the life of me remember how.

I found a recipe and it is pretty good!

This recipe is from Betty Crocker

Decadent Fudge Sauce

Ingredients

2 cups Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate  Morsels/Chips (12 oz bag)
1 can Carnation Evaporated Milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Put the chocolate chips, evaporated milk, and sugar in a medium saucepan
Turn heat on medium - medium-low
Using a wooden spoon stir constantly to mix and prevent lumps
Bring to a boil
Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla flavoring
Stir melting butter
Let the sauce sit to cool some.  It will thicken a little when cooling.
I put the sauce into a pint canning jar with plastic lid for storage
Refrigerate for up to a month

Microwave

Put chips, milk and sugar in microwave safe dish
Heat on medium setting for 5 minutes, stir or whisk, heat more if needed to melt all chips
Bring to a boil remove from microwave
Add butter and vanilla flavoring
Stir, let sit to cool it will thicken with time.
Put into jar and chill until use
Refrigerate for up to a month

To Use

Dip out enough to top your ice cream *use your judgement
Put into a microwave safe dish or even a paper bowl
Heat on medium setting 30 second intervals stirring as you go until heated through
Top your dish and enjoy!

I love nuts with my sundae and have plenty of them in the pantry but no maple or corn syrup to make them. What the heck Chuck's Aunt Jemima Pancake Syrup is in there I'll just use it. I put a few walnuts into a small bowl and just poured the syrup over them. Tasted better than I thought they would!

So my sweet tooth was certainly cured today!  I don't eat like this often but when I do I pour it on!

Not bad, in fact it was very good!

    1. Hey Lisa,
It is pretty good!  My Catie is trying not to eat sweets or carbs so I had to sneak around her so she wouldn't be tempted to eat any.
Have a great rest of the week and weekend! Dolly
