Rain Rain Go Away!

We've had so much rain.  There are many things I'd like to do outside. What is one to do?  Plan? I guess that is what I'll do and maybe bake a cake!  After all, tomorrow is Valentine's Day!

How are you?  I hope well. I've been at a loss recently with what to post.  Times as you know have been a little difficult, to say the least.  Friends and loved ones have all been touched by some sort of sickness.

I've been in prayer for all that have been sick or lost loved ones. One had a memorial service last week. One was buried yesterday.  Just today I found out another friend has passed away.  We didn't know about that one.  I'm saddened by all of the loss and praying for those and others with health needs. Praying for our country as well.

Prayer helps you know.  God is always here for us all we need to do is ask.  I hope you know Him and that He is giving you just what you need.  I'm not necessarily talking about things, strength,  peace of mind, good health, and happiness can be some of the true blessings.  We need to be thankful for everything actually.

Bible Gateway is a great online source to read the scriptures.  You can search and read to your heart's content.

The Bible has given me strength in my most trying times.  It will help you too. I have a few Bibles and would take nothing for them.  The one shown below I have too and found at the Billy Graham Library a few years back.  It is a good study Bible in the New King James version. It also has Jesus's words in red.  I've always liked that.

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Mark 4: 39-41

39 And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace!  Be still!"

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40  He said to them, "Why are you so afraid?  Have you still no faith?"

41  And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, "Who then is this, that

even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

Waiting On The Rain To Stop

We long for sunny days but know Who is in control of that (as shown in the verses above)  so finding things to do while waiting.

I should be sewing or cleaning and clearing.  The truth is I've been lazy not a trait that I normally have and hoping it isn't one that stays with me.

There have been good things I've learned.  Actually being able to sit long enough to drink a cup of coffee (sometimes).  I've watched all 7 seasons of The Golden Girls and most of The Andy Griffith Show.

This past week I've watched a wonderful Christian Series on Amazon Prime called The Life of Jesus.  It was great!  I did enjoy it and it was narrated by Christopher Plummer (I always liked him and sadly he has recently passed away.)  I do recommend the movie/series.

My grandsons have me watching lots of things. We've gone through the Harry Potter Movies and All of the Star Wars.  Now I'm watching Mandalorian and WandaVision!  We've been apart for way too much so these things tie us together.

Today I'm watching Hallmark A Harvest Wedding and you can guess the plot.  Right?

Amazon Prime has some pretty good programming.  We live in the country and I guess so far out that cable has yet to reach us.

Internet out here is from the dark ages. Can you believe that?  So we use other sources for in-home entertaining. I say all of that to say there are always ways to work around something.  Thank goodness for smart TV Fire-Sticks subscription apps of all kinds!

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm going to make a Sea Salt and Caramel Cake.  Hope it turns out well with this humidity.  I'll let you know later.

Leaving you with a child poem/song that we've all most probably heard

Rain Rain Go Away

Rain rain go away

Come again some other day

We want to go outside and play

Come again some other day

  2. Sea salt caramel cake sounds delicious. Send some my way. Haha. We do not watch many movies and I do not have prime. We have a chrome stick (I think its called) We will watch Hulu but can’t get the husband to step out and try other things like Netflix or Amazon prime (when I had a free month). Sometimes we are not too tech swavy so he tends to stick to things thats working for him. I love Hallmark movies!!
Sorry to hear about the passing of friends. I have had about 2 people I know that died recently. SO sad.

    1. Hi Lisa I sure wish I could send some cake.  It was pretty good but very rich.  We watch Hulu and Netflix too. Actually until recently I've not sat down to watch much TV at all. Since Chuck retired I've relinquished the living room to him and the remote LOL.
Thank you sweet friend and I'm so sorry for the people you've lost recently too.  Praying for you and all.
