Grandma Cora's Lace/Hoe Cake Cornbread

Grandma Cora's Lace Cornbread or Hoe Cake

1 cup yellow or white cornmeal plain
1/4 cup self rising flour
1 tsp. oil
1 pinch of salt
cold or hot water as much as to your liking (the more you add the thinner the batter and cornbread; also the lacier the edges)
Medium High Heat
oil pan (there again iron frying pan or griddle works the best but any non-stick frying pan will do)

When oil is heated little pour in your batter, either one large or small ones whichever you prefer.
Watch let edges will brown loosen and look turn brown other side
Drain on paper towels if needed.
Serve warm
It is delicious

Dolly's Recipe
Same ingredients as above except I do add a pinch of baking powder...
for me it seems to hold it together better.
