Mondays

Good Morning!  It's Monday!  Come on in and have a cup of coffee with me.  We'll have to wake up and talk about things....

Do you have certain days that you set aside to clean?  Are you one of the organized people that have everything in order and scheduled down to the minute?

No I'm not, sadly.  The funny thing is that in a way that is what I did for a living.  I have, in no matter what job I held, organized things; be it paperwork in different offices, people out in the field, or an entire stores merchandise. Yet I don't do it at home.  How can that be, you may ask?  I am asking that same question.

Maybe it's like that phrase "The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes."

Origin unknown; however the essence of this phrase is used to describe the phenomenon where certain 'professionals' in any given area are so busy with work for their clients and their teams that they neglect using their professional skills to help themselves or those closest to them. For example - the painter & decorator who never decorates his own house, the web designer that hasn't finished their website, or the accountant who is late in submitting his own tax return!(credit)

There I've admitted it I have no organization in my own home!  I'd rather be sewing instead of mopping, painting something instead of cleaning the bathroom, gardening instead of vacuuming.  Cooking instead of doing the dishes.  Maybe I need a maid, or maybe I need to get myself organized. "Naw" it's doubtful but I'll give it a try...

Do you see that apron?  I need to put one on and get to work.  Do you know what I'm thinking?  That is cute I need to take that fabric that is on the ironing board and get to cutting out new aprons! I do have dolly's designs  you know.

I'm making my home laundry detergent this morning.  I have some recipes here.
Can you imagine that I'm neat as a pin.  Look at her and look at that laundry she must have one of those folding forms that we had in retail to fold it so nicely.  Mine is laying on top of the freezer at this very moment and the dryer just buzzed Again!
Pardon me I had to go crease and hang Chuck's uniform pants and hang his shirts neatly.  He is the neat one in the family.  He does like to look neat in his uniform.  I'm proud of him.

Yes that will be me today at the clothesline.  (Not) We can pretend though can't we?  Get real heels to hang out the laundry...

I'd rather be out shopping

I just took out a Boston Butt to thaw.  Chuck is going to make some Bar-B-Que...I love that!  You know I love to cook but sometimes a girl needs a break.  He made his spaghetti last night!  It was delicious!
I do cook a lot though, that I do and if you follow you know I have a cooking blog.  Dolly is Cooking.
Stop by and check out some of the recipes.

This is how I look when Chuck gets home. (laughing)  Well, I do sometimes.  Do you want to know what a middle aged man is looking at?  Do you see that loaf of fresh baked bread there on the counter?  Yeah?  I'm kidding somewhat, but it would be a quick second look and a big sniff with a smile on his face...Something good is ready to eat! Oh alright I have to admit he is romantic.  I love that about him, but he does love to eat.  I love to cook so there you go!

This is more me out here most days...I guess I'd better get busy, there is more laundry to do after I make my own detergent of course.  My sister Gwen is coming over to help me clean the "Hoarding Shed" today!  I sure am glad because she gives me the sense to part with some things.  I'm too sentimental for my own good.....

Tell me, "What are you doing today?"
Have a great Monday and week!

  1. I was thinking about this yesterday (as I was cleaning). When I was working I used to stay up all night long (just about) and clean the house from top to bottom. I did that so that I could have my Saturdays "free". I am quite organized but don't have a specific cleaning day anymore...and I make MyHero clean his own shower! lol I do everything else but that is on him!

Have a wonderful day cleaning out the "hoarding shed". It is tough to do, isn't it? lol It is good to have a decision maker there to help you. xo Diana
