JELL-O Double Layer Chocolate Pie

This is not my recipe. I did make small changes, however, and am sharing those today.

Double Layer Chocolate Pie

  • 4 oz. or 1/2 8ox pkg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 Tablespoons milk or half and half
  • 1 Tablespoons sugar
  • One- 8oz. tub of Cool Whip Whipped Topping, thawed
  • Prepared chocolate flavor crumb crust (6 ounces)
  • Two packages (4-serving size) Jell-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
  • 2 cups milk for making pudding
MIX cream cheese, 1 tablespoon milk and sugar in large bowl with wire whisk until smooth.  Gently stir in 1 1/2 cups of the whipped topping.  Spread onto bottom of crust.

POUR 2 cups milk into bowl. Add pudding mixes.  Beat with wire whisk until well mixed. (Mixture will be thick).  Immediately stir in remaining whipped topping.  Spread over cream cheese layer.

REFRIGERATE 4 hours or until set.  Garnish as desired.  Makes 8 servings

My Changes:

Your Crust Choice- I've used all and all are good! This time I used Deep Dish Graham Cracker Crust
  • Deep Dish Graham Cracker prepared crust
  • Deep Dish Chocolate Crumb
  • Deep Dish Pastry prebaked. (as shown in the photo above)
I use JELL-O Chocolate Cook and Serve large size, add 3 cups whole milk
Cook and cool thoroughly

You can also make your own homemade chocolate pudding and pie filling for a great pie!  I've done that before too!

I used the entire 8oz. Cream Cheese
Added a little extra half and half, and sugar
I also used more Cool Whip in cream cheese layer and for topping pie.

Chilled and served.  It was good for 3 days!

I don't make this often but was pushed for time at Christmas. I had homemade pies baking in two ovens, so this was a cool pie option and was enjoyed.

If you'd like to get this adorable little cookbook Amazon has one here.  Every now and then I'll open mine up and make something to see if it is good.  This one is, but then again I love chocolate and cream cheese anything!

Happy Easy Cooking Y'all
