Peppermint Sticks Balsam

I found the seeds for these beauties called Peppermint Sticks Balsam from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. They can also be found at Select Seeds   They are tender annuals and go from seed to plants in 10-12 weeks.

They are a rare seed to find date back to pre 1828.  Certainly an Heirloom a constant seed in Victorian catalogs that almost disappeared.

They are edible plants and a good source of Calcium, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C. The leaves can be cooked into curries and various other recipes.

The color is Candy-Apple Red, (which I love and was the color on Uncle Jr's race car) and white.

They are so pretty and we've been enjoying them so much.  Sharing in pictures with you today.
