ohuhu Expandable Garden Hose Product Review

Most of you know that I do product reviews, depending on the product as to which of my blogs is appropriate.  Today I review two of ohuhu Expandable Garden Hoses.  One is a 17 ft. that extends to 50 ft.  The other is 33 ft. that extends to 100 ft.

Each comes with a spray nozzle, an on/off valve, a washer, the hose and important instructions.  I do advise you to read the instructions before use.

1. They are so lightweight so much so in fact I pulled and lugged my regular hose out of the way and was trying the new type for review anyway...(I have to tell you I was glad to get my heavy klunker out of the way)

I really like that the hose is so very lightweight and easy to maneuver around.

My love of gardening definitely was inherited from my sweet Mama "Dot". She loved it so.  I do remember having to help her by moving the heavy garden hoses around so that she could water her flower gardens.  A chore that I now also hate to do.  These garden hoses are so much more fun to use!

2.  They do expand when you cut on the water, making it easy to use in an extended space.  You do however if you wish to leave in and water something such as the flower pot above prop it so it won't shrink back and fall off.

A close up view of the nozzle.  I really like it because it works quite well.  It is easy to change and clicks/locks into place easily and tightly.

3.  They do shrink when you turn the water off  making it easier to put away!

4.. You have to have some way to anchor the hose if you decide to place in a large flower pot or even a kiddie pool. This type of garden hose if left on it's own may shrink and pull out of what you're trying to water or fill. (As shown in figure 2.)

5.  They don't kink really! That in itself is a wonderful blessing!

6.  I notice my water pressure is better with this hose and nozzle!  I really do and our water pressure here is somewhat low so that is a welcome plus with this product!

  • IMPORTANT NOTES - Please do not leave the hose charged after you switch off the valve on the brass connector, which would damage the latex ad may cause a burst.  Please keep the hose empty when not in use.
  • There is a WARNING that states:  This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.  DO NOT DRINK from this garden hose.
  • Please follow instructions and empty garden hose of all water when not in use.
  • Keep in the shade to protect when possible.
  • Drain and store INDOORS during the winter months to prevent damage to the hose.
  • ALWAYS turn off the valve and then turn off the water to prevent the hose from running back and possibly hurting you.

REVIEW
Thumbs Up!

I've heard that these types of garden hoses explode and have holes that leak a lot we'll see.  I have had them for about a month and I haven't encountered any of those problems as yet.  If I do in the future I will post an update on this review.

UPDATE JUNE 10, 2016
I PULLED THEM OUT OF THE GARDEN SHED AND FOUND BOTH TO HAVE HOLES IN THEM.  I STORED THEM TO PREVENT SUCH A THING BUT THEY BOTH HAVE HOLES.  I MAY REPAIR OR MAY NOT.
I WANTED YOU TO KNOW

Disclosure:  Hibiscus House was given the two products.  Ohuhu Expandable Garden Hoses for review.  As always the opinions expressed are my own.

  1. They look so convenient, especially if you were in an apartment with a patio or deck garden with very little storage room for hoses.

    1. Kathy,
That is a great idea! It would be great in small spaces! I was amazed at how little space it takes to store them!
