I used towels for curtains in our kitchen for many years. We now have blinds. Nice selection of posts too.

DeleteI just went back and read through these, Dolly. I loved the 'little house' and it is sad to think that it long gone but I am glad you have the happy memories of that place-fireplace with stocking-playing with your sisters and brother in his coon-skin hat. The other thing that I read that hit me in one of your stories is about your memories of when you were really young. I have those memories, too, and people always thought I was lying. I can remember sitting on a stoop at the 'little barn' with chickens behind me. That barn was gone by the time I was three but I distinctly remember sitting there and my father confirmed that when I was older. He had total recall from the time he was just over a year old and when he had Parkinson's he shared so many of those memories.
