He is Risen!

The Resurrection
Matthew 28: 5-7

5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."…

Easter and Things

Isn't this one of the most wonderful times of the year?  Traditions, Family, Friends, Loved Ones gather.  What Easter Traditions do you celebrate?

I remember daddy always making sure that mama bought us a new outfit for church.  The whole wardrobe, dresses, gloves, crinolines, lacy socks and shiny patent leather shoes for we girls.  Suits, shirts and shoes if needed for the boys.

Palm Sunday

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" (John 12:12-13)

By waving palm branches and using them to cover his path as he rode into the city on a donkey, the crowd indicated that he was revered and respected on the level of royalty, and in doing so, challenged the power of the Roman empire and priests that ruled Jerusalem. (credit)

Matthew 21: 1-11
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:5 “Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,“Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” 11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Casper

"Casper"
Look at that face!  He smiles.  Look at that huge smile!
That's my little baby.  I say little but he is huge.  He is dirty and matted but is going to get a much needed grooming soon.  He is precious and so loving.  I'll get another picture of him after I groom him.  He is so pretty.

Good Morning All!

Good Morning All!

Spring is here and in South Carolina it is as if Summer is here today.  Temps may be up to 85 degrees!  Yesterday we had family here and what fun to see the little grands running and playing outdoors.  Yes, they wanted "Mimi" to run and play too.

Birds are filling the yard, singing and flying around.  Whoops, one just flew into the kitchen window, guess it's trying to come inside with me.  Flowers are blooming daffodils and wildflowers.  The grass is getting greener.  Beautiful and my favorite time of year.

The animals are getting restless.  The chicken pen is full of activity as you can imagine because you know I have way to many roosters.  They of course are fighting with the others...with a fence between them that is hard to do.  I'm laughing, it doesn't stop them they stand up to each other anyway.  The lone roosters are free range and the others are in with their kind...well sort of.  Funny stuff they have a village all their own and are fun to watch.

Casper the Great Pyrenees just puts up with anything.  He is the best dog.  He needs a good washing, grooming from a long cold winter.  I wish I could show you how big he has gotten.  When he is excited and stands he is so much taller than I.  Chickens still eat from his pan and his best bud is still Spot The Barred Rock Rooster. Love that dog.

First post that I did over at Savannah Attic.:  Spring and David Austin Roses which is a beauty trail of wonderful photography and motivation for enjoying them in our own gardens!  I hope to have loads of gardening information as well as other interests like recipes, lots of DIY, decor. We will have lots of Guest Post too. Here at Hibiscus House, the door is always open and the breezes are blowing on the front porch.

I had an enjoyable short time over at Savannah Attic

Enjoy this beautiful day
