Handling and Disposal of Dry Ice

It's a wonder I've not blown us up in the last two years!

I've been handling the dry ice in the food delivery boxes all wrong!

Google and you will find many links but most all seem to tell you what not to do and not how to dispose of.  I found a few links that help with the disposal, so I thought I'd share them with you. So you won't blow up yourself or your loved ones!

When I first began ordering lots of food boxes I would take the dry ice off the top bare-handed and place it on the back steps.  Well, that was not the thing to do because Oskar our dog would sit there licking the plastic bags.  Quickly I removed and stupidly placed them inside the house in the steel trash can!  That is not the thing to ever do!  Whew!

  1. Thanks for this information. One of our daughters is starting to order food like that and having it delivered to our house. I'm forwarding her this good info.

    1. Thank you and after I found out I could have blown us up I'm glad too...I got a box yesterday and took the box and bags out to garden shed porch closed it up it wasn't tight. When I went back this morning all that was left were empty bags. I learned my lesson too. Hope you're doing well.
